Dates Confirmed for Westfield FFA Cup Round of 16 Fixtures

Football Federation Australia (FFA) today announced the following match details for the Round of 16 of the inaugural Westfield FFA Cup, which will see the eight matches played across two nights on Tuesday 16 September and Tuesday 23 September 2014.

Vikings Park in Canberra will play host to the match between Capital Football NPL club Tuggeranong United and Melbourne Victory on September 16. The biggest game in the ‘Tuggies’ history will be broadcast LIVE and EXCLUSIVE on FOX SPORTS.

FOX SPORTS will also broadcast the highly anticipated Sydney Derby between Sydney United 58 FC and Sydney FC on Tuesday 23 September 2014. FOX SPORTS’ coverage of both Round of 16 match days will also feature single camera coverage of the other six matches and LIVE crosses as the drama unfolds.

The other three matches to be played on Tuesday 16 September 2014 will see Belmore Sports Ground host Sydney Olympic and Victorian NPL club Bentleigh Greens, Queensland NPL outfit Olympic FC aiming to keep its Cup run going against the Central Coast Mariners at the Queensland Sports and Athletic Centre, and two NSL championship winners, Adelaide City and Brisbane Strikers, reigniting their rivalry at Marden Sports Complex.

Then on night two, which is headlined by the all Sydney Derby, Coopers Stadium will host the solitary all-Hyundai A-League Round of 16 encounter between Adelaide United and Brisbane Roar, while recently crowned NPL Queensland Premiers Palm Beach Sharks will take on South Springvale and Perth Glory are away against St Albans Saints.

The venues for Sydney United 58 FC’s match against Sydney FC and St Albans’ clash with Perth Glory are yet to be finalised as FFA awaits official lux certificates to ensure a required standard of lighting is met to host the fixtures. A suitable venue is also still to be confirmed for the Palm Beach Sharks v South Springvale match.

Notably, the two matches in Adelaide will kick-off at 7.00pm ACST (local time) so they are played simultaneously with the other matches to ensure all games are featured in the FOX SPORTS coverage.
