Sydney FC will host a glamorous, black-tie awards ceremony when the Sky Blues’ ‘Team of the Decade’ and Player of the Year awards will be revealed next Tuesday night.
Hosted by Network 10’s Mel McLaughlin and Fox Sports’ Matt Russell the Sky Blue Ball is Sydney FC’s annual red-carpet awards night and will highlight the achievements of the Hyundai A-League, Westfield W-League and the Foxtel National Youth League players from the current season.
Winner of the last season of Channel Nine’s hit show The Voice, singer/songwriter Anja Nissen will head up the entertainment and will perform her new single ‘I’m So Excited’ featuring her mentor from the show will.i.am together with Cody Wise.
The culmination of the evening will be the announcement of the prestigious Sydney FC ‘Team of the Decade’ that coincides with the clubs 10 Year celebrations this year and the Sky Blues’ Hyundai A-League Player of the Year.
Over 600 guests will also be treated to a four course meal and will see the winners of awards for the Sydney FC Golden Boot, Hyundai A-League, Westfield W-League and Foxtel National Youth League Players’ Player of the Year as well as the Members’ Player of the Year and the Chairman’s Award.
The Sky Blues will also be celebrating a place in the Hyundai A-League Finals Series, qualification for the Asian Champions League and potentially a top-two Hyundai A-League finish.
Attendees include Sydney FC Chairman Scott Barlow and his wife Alina, Sydney FC CEO Tony Pignata, ex-Roosters star Anthony Minichiello and Terry Biviano, Jean-Marc and Kirsten Carriol, Foxtel CEO Richard Freudenstein, SBS CEO & Managing Director Michael Ebeid together with Sydney FC Head Coach Graham Arnold and the full Sydney FC playing and coaching squad from all 3 teams.
