ARNOLD EXCITED BY “MOUTH-WATERING” DRAW

Two home Sydney Derbies, a Grand Final re-match against Melbourne Victory at Allianz Stadium in week six, an opening weekend fixture against marquee chasing Melbourne City and a Boxing Day derby against Graham Arnold’s former club Central Coast Mariners are just some of the highlights Sydney FC supporters can start to look forward to, following the announcement of the draw for the Hyundai A-League 2015/16 season.

Sky Blues Members also have an extra home game to enjoy as Arnie’s squad will host 14 games this season compared to 13 in 2014/15.

Following on from the successful hosting of Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea, another trip to ANZ Stadium is also on the cards with a New South Wales derby against the Newcastle Jets set to take place at the height of the summer holidays on January 9th.

Head Coach Graham Arnold believes the draw is an exciting one for the Sky Blues and is looking forward to getting off to a successful start.

“I’m already looking forward to getting the season underway and I think there are some exciting fixtures to look forward to,” he said.

“I’ve experienced one Sydney Derby at Allianz Stadium last season which was phenomenal and to have two at home this season is a mouth-watering prospect.

“I think our first game against Melbourne City will be the biggest of the opening round while the chance to play Melbourne Victory at home so early on in the season is another exciting prospect for our Members.

“I’m also looking forward to another Boxing Day game at home this season, which will hopefully have all of our fans full of Christmas spirit.”

The Sky Blues’ Australia Day match up away to Melbourne Victory also returns to Etihad Stadium following the break for the Asian Cup, while Sydney FC’s away following can relax in the knowledge they will only need to make the furthest trips of the year, to Perth and Wellington, once each this campaign.

Sydney FC’s potentially crucial final two games of the season will be at home with Adelaide United and Perth Glory the respective visitors.
