Peter Tredinnick steps down from FFA Board

Peter Tredinnick, a former Socceroo and a partner in a national law firm Moray & Agnew, has today stepped down as a director of Football Federation Australia (FFA).

Tredinnick attended his final board meeting in Sydney today, announcing his decision to retire for personal reasons.

He was appointed in October 2012 and became a member of the FFA Board’s Football Development Committee and the Board Nominations Committee

Tredinnick played 272 matches over 12 seasons in the National Soccer League and represented Australia with the inaugural Young Socceroos and at senior level on six occasions with the Socceroos.

FFA Chairman Frank Lowy AC has thanked Peter Tredinnick for his valuable contribution to the Board, which built on his outstanding service to the game over decades.

“Peter is a distinguished football man and a prominent corporate practitioner so he brought great insights to the Boardroom,” said Lowy.

“Naturally, we’ll miss a person of his stature, but we’re glad Peter gave the best part of three years’ service to FFA. He can be proud of his achievements.”

Peter Tredinnick said it was a privilege to be a director of FFA during a remarkable period of growth for Australian football.

“Working with Frank Lowy, my fellow directors and CEO David Gallop and his senior management team has been a great experience,” said Tredinnick.

“The game is heading in the right direction and the vision of Whole of Football Plan gives me great confidence in its long-term future.

“I put on record my personal thanks to Frank Lowy for all he’s done for the game. I am and will always be a fan and advocate for the beautiful game, particularly in my home town of Newcastle.”

The balance of Tredinnick’s term until November 2017 will be filled by appointment in due course by the FFA Board.
