Melbourne Victory will take on Sydney FC in the Hyundai A-League 2017 Grand Final, presented by FOXTEL, after defeating Brisbane Roar 1-0 in a high octane Semi Final at AAMI Park tonight.

The Hyundai A-League’s all-time leading goalscorer Besart Berisha sent Melbourne Victory through to the Grand Final when he found the net with a laser header on 70 minutes. The match started at breakneck speed with both sides showing attacking intent from the kick off and the pace didn’t slow until Berisha broke the deadlock midway through the second half, which was ultimately enough to secure the home side a passage to the decider.

 

Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory will meet for the third time in a Hyundai A-League Grand Final after Sydney FC took out the title in 2010 and Victory reigned supreme in 2015. Both of those matches were played in Melbourne with the 2017 Grand Final to be played at Allianz Stadium in Sydney.

 

Melbourne Victory will be looking to become the first club to win four Championships in the Hyundai A-League era while the Sky Blues will be striving to cap off their record-breaking season with a Grand Final win to bring them level with Melbourne Victory and Brisbane Roar on three Championships.

 

Tickets for the Hyundai A-League 2017 Grand Final will go on sale to Melbourne Victory Members at 9am tomorrow morning (Monday 1 May), to the Football Family from 5pm on Monday (1 May) and the general public from 9am Tuesday (2 May).
