Perth Glory is delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Jake Brimmer as the club continues to build its squad for the 2017-18 Hyundai A-League campaign. |
The 19-year-old joins Glory having spent the previous three years at English Premier League giants Liverpool.
Born in Melbourne, he first rose to prominence with Nunawading City and also spent time in Football Federation Victoria’s NTC program before being spotted by Liverpool. He duly signed a three-year deal with the Anfield club and became a key part of their Academy side. At international level, meanwhile, he has represented Australia at Under-17 and Under-20 level and was a part of the Joeys squad at the 2015 Under-17 World Cup. A creative and dynamic central midfielder, Brimmer was linked with moves to both Burnley and Kaiserslautern before deciding to join Glory and the club’s Head of Football, Jacob Burns, is delighted to have secured the teenager’s services. “Jake is one of the brightest young Australian prospects and we beat off some stiff competition from clubs in both Europe and the Hyundai A-League to sign him,” he said. “He’s an intelligent midfielder with a great passing range and technical ability who has the potential to be a massive asset to the club. “We’re really excited to have him on board.” Brimmer is expected to make his Glory debut in Tuesday night’s Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32 clash with Heidelberg United. #CREATEDESTINY |
