Brisbane Strikers, South Springvale, Sydney Olympic and Olympic FC became the first four clubs to progress to the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 16 following the first night of matches in the Round of 32.
Former NSL champions Brisbane Strikers overcame Northern NSW (NNSW) NPL club Broadmeadow Magic in extra time, while South Springvale continued its giant killing run, the Victorian State League South East side making it through in a penalty shootout against NNSW outfit South Cardiff.
Sydney Olympic came from a goal down to beat Manly United 3-1, and Olympic FC ensured there would be at least two NPL Queensland teams in the last 16 as they eliminated Melbourne Knights.
The Round of 32 continues next Tuesday (5 August 2014) with another four matches, including two all-Hyundai A-League encounters – Newcastle Jets v Perth Glory and Adelaide United v Wellington Phoenix.
